I am looking for a good gaming laptop.

I travel a lot, thus I need a laptop.
...Also, I already have a desktop.

What is a good gaming laptop? My price range is $1,000.00 - $2,500.00.

I was looking at the Alienware 17 and it seams pretty good - all reviews were 4-5/5 stars.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Idk any good craptops, since they're craptops. Why not get a portable all-in-one or something?

I have an all-in-one aswell. I ditched it causeof the size and weight. Also, you can't change any of the parts. They're basically a giant laptop. Not portable. x]

I've heard the Alienware 17 is the best laptop for 2015 at a retail price of around $1,500. If you have the disposable income I'd say get it.

I did happen to see another Alien 17 upgrade going for around $1,800. It has an extra GB of Ram and you might expect a bit extra dedicated memory. If you're going for a heavy MMO it might be worth it to buy the upgraded version.

@Voo
I've seen some very good laptops out there that'll play anything. Imagine trying to take an all-in-one on a trip with you. Ew, no thanks.

Wow... you're serious with this? You really want to go down this road, Voo?

This is why I mention Alienware

Rated Best Laptop of 2015 Source: http://www.laptopmag.com/gaming-laptops
The latest version of the Alienware 17 has been upgraded to include a Nvidia GeForce GTX 980M GPU, one of the world's most powerful mobile graphics cards. But if your framerate-lust is still unquenched, you can purchase the optional graphical amp outfitted with a beastly desktop GPU. Throw in a colorful full HD display and customizable lighting and you've got a recipe for total (gaming) domination. - See more at: http://www.laptopmag.com/gaming-laptops#sthash.LKOO5FtE.dpuf

Here's another reputable site discussing the greatness of the Alien 17
http://www.techradar.com/us/reviews/pc-mac/laptops-portable-pcs/laptops-and-netbooks/alienware-17-2015-1291790/review

Our Verdict
The Alienware 17 is a nearly perfect 17-inch gaming laptop, and the Graphics Amplifier only makes things sweeter with a beefy desktop GPU.

You're talking about overheating and keyboards? That's the argument you want to make against buying a laptop? Have you ever tried to play Wow, GuildWars, or any non-app game on a 2-in-1? No? there's a reason for that.

Here is another article that matches 2-in-1s with laptops.
https://powermore.dell.com/business/laptop-vs-2-in-1-which-is-right-for-you/
The laptop wins in Memory, Performance, and games....duh?

Here's another article discussing 2-in-1s as floppers. It's a blog though, so take it with a grain of sand.
http://blog.laptopmag.com/2-in-1-tablets-are-flopping

Let's just believe for a minute that everything you say is true about the keyboard issue. I think it might just be preference or it may be all good. Here is a forum where people are talking about the issue of keyboards sticking.
http://www.overclock.net/t/1291466/its-here-my-new-alienware-m17x/50

Notice how another poster said he has no issues at all?

I also notice you mentioned how 2-in-1s are better laptops. Actually 2-in-1s are not laptops any more than laptops with touchscreens are tablets.

Anyway. This is my insight. I hope it will open your mind a bit. If you come away from this ignoring everything I just mentioned, consider this 1 thing: There are uses for both 2-in-1s and laptops, but one will NOT replace the other.
